Antivirus as the name suggests is anti virus in nature .Its basically a program that to identify, neutralize ,delete a virus,worm,Trojan, malware. Antivirus aims at keeping your computer safe and protected from malicious programs that intend to harm your computer and its applications.
An antivirus application works in two ways. One is to scan all the files according to user preference, and identify the malicious activity caused by a virus . Virus identification is done by matching symptoms with its database of known viruses. Another way a Antivirus identifies a virus is during run time , ie;it continuously monitors and tries to identify the malicious activities occurring in the system. If it founds one then it tries to match the symptoms with its database.If a match is found then a virus message is displayed to the user prompting him to let the Antivirus Delete that virus or put it in quarantine .
